1st Week Back to Work

Day 1 - Monday
We only have daycare 2 days a week until April. On Monday's Jerry watches Ben. It is much easier to leave when you have to sneak quietly out of the house because the 2 of them are sleeping!! Plus knowing that Jerry was home with him all day, also made it much easier to go back to work.

Here is Jerry and Ben watching Ellen...well he fell asleep watching Ellen.

Day 2 - Tuesday
1st Day at daycare. It was not easy leaving him in the hands with someone else. Although, when I dropped him off at daycare, it was nice to know she had prepared the kids for Ben's arrival. Cadee (Our daycare lady) had let all the kids know that Ben was coming. Her little boy was so excited to see him. She had a special blanket that was Ben's area, and it was quiet toy day, so Ben was able to get used to being around other kids and his new environment!! I did shed a few tears leaving the little guy behind. Luckily he was happy as clam hanging out there and his report card said he did wonderful!

Here is Ben on his way to daycare
Here he is when we picked him up!

Day 3 - Wednesday
Off to Grandma & Grandpa Clifford's house! This drop off was a little bit easier knowing he was going to be with family!

Here he his with dad getting ready to leave the house!

Day 4 - Thursday
Back to daycare he went! This time the drop off went much better! The kids at daycare were all waiting by the front door for Ben's arrival and couldn't wait for me to take him out of his carrier so they could see him. He must have had a good time, because he was zonked out when I brought him home!

Coming home from daycare

Day 5 - Friday
Off to Grandma & Grandpa Stadler's!! G&G are right on my way to work, so it's very easy to just swing on by! Also, since they are only 5 minutes from my work, I was able to go over and have lunch with the little guy!

Here he is getting ready to go to grandma's!
Lucky for me, I had lots of stuff to do at work, so the days flew by and before I knew it, it was time to leave!!

Like Father, Like Son

Our morning routine is:
If Ben is not up by 6 - I get up to get ready until he wakes up and then I feed him. If he wakes up before 6, I will feed him and put him back to sleep. Usually he'll only sleep a little bit longer and once he starts stirring Jerry will bring him into bed with him. The other morning I walked in to get him ready for grandma's and this is what I found! (I swear we did not pose him this way!!)

We found our thumb...

....and yet we haven't figured out, you don't stick your finger in your eye! It's the only the first time he has put his thumb in his mouth. He loves to try to get his entire hand in there all the time though!

Right Hand

We have become absolutely OBSESSED with our right hand. Ben loves to stare at it and show it to you (and he clenches his fist)! The minute you grab it or kiss it he gets this huge smile on his face. It's so much fun to watch him experience new things.

Staring at his hand

Once again staring at his hand

A smile for good measure!

Here is a short video that kind of shows how Ben shows off his hand

2 Month Dr. Appointment

Ben had his 2 month dr appointment on Monday. It was a tough one. He had 3 shots that day. At first he didn't quite know what had happened and we got a little cry out of him (the nurses gave him 2 shots at the same time). The 3rd shot he absolutely wailed! Poor little guy could hardly breath and I almost started crying. Luckily as soon as they were done we were able to hold him and he calmed down pretty quickly.
